Hmm... I've been told by my own father that I "march to my own drum." I guess that's accurate. I'm not like every other gay man out there. I enjoy clubs and bars but I don't like going every weekend. I like to feel productive and that sometimes means waking up early. My last short trip was to Eastern State Penitentiary in Pa. I was curious about the prison itself since it is one of the oldest prisons in our country and then included a visit to the "Mutters Museum", also known as the 'museum of medical oddities'. There are many sides to me. At times I can be totally serious and seem like a prick, but that side gets business done. Usually though, I reserve that side for work and people I just get annoyed with. I get bored of quite a few things very quickly...I was going to shcool for art and philosophy...then audio recording engineering and philosophy. I deleted my witty, personal OkC profile about a year ago after some less-than-stellar blind date experiences, but I'm back for more (with a blank slate and an open mind)!

I am living my life. I took some unintended time off after high school, but resumed my journey through college this past spring (which is a long journey, but a worthwhile one). I am working days as an assistant for a real estate agent, and just passed the exam to get my own real estate license. I've been working nights at a restaurant for over two and a half years - I like it, but in the words of my omniscient mother, "it's a means to an end; not the end itself."

In my free time I like to spend time on the computer talking to friends, reading Wikipedia, playing WoW (Mannoroth hi!), and generally being nerdy. Spending time with family and friends, cooking for the aforementioned, taking pictures of anything I like to look at, singing in my car, and hiking in the state park that borders my property are some pretty constant pastimes!

I go to George Mason but tend to hang out with friends from all over. Right now I work at GNC while I finish up my last semester. I spend most of my time hanging out with my friends when I can. Most of the time we just play around on video games or watch movies, and when we can't we usually end up talking about them all the time. As much as it sounds like I am a total bum I do work out. Actually I try to work out just about every day. I like staying active and lift weights, a lot. Most of the time in the summer when the weather is nice I will have bon-fires and just sit around with friends picking on a guitar and sipping on beer or something.

I don't drink often because I try to eat right as well as workout, but I do drink every once in a while. I am really into nature and love camping/hiking but never seem to have anyone to go with so I don't get to do it often.

I talked about movies... well I watch a lot of movies. I will often see 2-3 movies in the theater a week so long as there is something good playing. On top of that I will usually watch another 2-3 at home or work. Yeah... if it is slow at work I just watch movies. It is great!

I am told I am very romantic, and I can kinda see it. I am very confident, almost to the point of cocky but I try not to be. I have never had a fear of speaking in public. (I know I am a total freak of nature, lol) I am not material. Don't get me wrong if you gave me a big screen tv or new car I would be happy but "stuff" really doesn't matter all that much to me. Oh and I am loyal, uncompromisingly loyal. I tend to just assume that everyone is so I also tend to be very trusting.

Well, I'm not good saying or explaining how I am.

Basically, I'm just a simple person, trying to improve every day. I'm honest, I hate the lie or when someone lies. I would rather have few friends who are really good friends, and not a lot who don't care about you. I'm looking for someone who really wants to start something serious, and friends.

56 year old recently widowed male ... what few relationships I've had have all been long term ... not adverse to a romp in the hay ...

But, since they want us to get into the details, I have 3 dogs, and 6 bird feeders in the yard, so, you do the math -- yes, i'm just a bit fond of animals. Wish I had more acreage so that I could have more animals ... would love to have a rescue site for abused animals.

Blame it on my mother, but I'm big into flower gardening ... working on getting rid of all (or most of) the grass and just having one (okay, 2 if you want to be technical, front and back) big flower garden. I have over a dozen different varieties of day lilies, about the same number of varieties of hybrid lilies, probably over 2 dozen different varieties of bearded iris, ecinacea, brown eyed susans, shasta daisies, about a dozen different roses, hostas, wood poppies, hardy cyclamen ... and then I fill in the blank spots with annuals.

Got a sweet tooth? I can take care of that for you ... love baking and making candy. Got an interest in history (this area is great for it), I try to get out regularly to the historical spots in the area.

If I watch TV, it's usually Discovery Channel, History Channel, National Geographic Channel, Science Channel, Food Network or one of the three PBS Stations in the area.

I'm a big nerd, to be completely honest. I'm into science, video games, reading, writing, collecting/listening to vinyl records, and playing table-top wargames. Also a huge hockey fan and very anti-football. I like spending time with my friends, but due to a crappy work schedule, it seems to be a rarity these days. Watching people as I sip gas station coffee can also be a great way to spend a day.

Well I can't leave too much on here, I need some mystery ya know! I'm a fun and laid back guy. I enjoy my Video games and gadgets, as well as movies/shows. I like to watch shows in order, and skip all the commercials. I love going out to bars and clubs, 930 club and Ibiza being my favorites. Bar hopping up in Frederick MD is fun, since I have a couple of friends who live up there. I take great pride in my car, and it fits me well.

Hrm... Well, I'm a fairly laid back software engineer who is looking to meet someone special. It's been a long time since I've meet a woman who's really done it for me and on top of that, I'm don't have many chances to meet people outside of work.

I'm looking for someone who's at least somewhat into the things I'm into... And they'd have to compliment me. Someone who has a bit of spotanaity to compliment my introverted nature. I may be introverted, but with someone who is more outgoing, I really can come out and enjoy life a whole lot more.

I live at home with my father, stepmother, and grandmother right now. My room is constantly a horrible mess, whenever I get the motivation to clean it it's at least cluttered again within 48 hours. I'm working at the Ledo Pizza here in Manassas and actually enjoying it quite a bit.

I hate people that try to change me for any reason, be it that I don't feel like talking, I don't want to go anywhere, or I just want to bitch about nothing in particular. Even more so, I hate people that cling. I'm sort of flip-flopped on emotional people; I'm told I give good, blunt, straightforward advice, but I hate it when people whine about a problem they could be fixing.

I like to talk and generally it's about nothing; feel free to ignore me 75% of the time. If I want your attention you'll know, and otherwise I don't give much of a rat's ass if you pretend I don't exist. I talk and you don't have to listen; you can even tell me to shut up and I usually will.

In case you hadn't noticed, I'm kind of an opinionated bitch. I figure if I show the world by bad traits, there will be less chance of misunderstandings later.

I like anime and manga, and moreover most anything Japanese or Asian in persuasion. I speak the language poorly, I listen to a lot of the music, I watch some of their animated shows and read some of their comic books. I spend most of my free time on the internet roleplaying varying characters with friends on an online journaling site. I realize this makes me irrevocably nerdy, and I don't honestly give a shit. It's what I like, and it's what makes me happy. This, however, doesn't mean that liking anime and manga is instantly going to lead to us having a connection. I tend to dislike most fan-types, to be completely honest.

I'm a rather cluttered individual, in both living space and headspace. I have this strange tendency to know where things are in amongst my mess, so it all works out. I would probably drive a neat freak insane, but at the same time I'm obsessive compulsive about certain things. I like color-coordination, I get twitchy if things aren't in some manner of order. It's confusing, but that's sort of what makes it part of me, I guess.

I own a small cat, and she's the only baby I ever want. I don't really ever see myself getting married, in part because I like my independence and in part because I've watched too many marriages and relationships fall apart. You could say I'm afraid of being hurt, but I don't like to explain myself in such weak-willed, girlish words. I like to think I'm stronger than that.

I'm not that good at writing about myself. I'm best described as a "doer". I think it's one thing to talk about yourself but you have to be able to back your words up with some action.

I'm adventurous, will try anything at least once, and always like a good adrenaline rush. I enjoy scary movies, rollercoasters and playing sports. I'm not much into actually watching sports, well...some. It depends. Things I want to try include whitewater rating, skydiving, bungee jumping (at least I don't think I'd chicken out). LOL

When it comes to being interested in someone I'll show it. I'm affectionate, passionate, and very flirtatious. I am a romantic who's not afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve.

I love playing soccer, traveling and going out and having a good time. When there is good weather you can usually find me at a beach or outside whitewater rafting, skydiving, hiking a moutain or anything else challenging.
