Let's spend a weekend eating our way through Chicago while enjoying the sites. For those of you who've done my NYC Culinary weekend trips, this will be similar- we will arrive into Chicago via plane Sat morning and head out Sunday evening after a weekend packed full of sightseeing, great food, and a lot of laughs. Since Chicago is one of the great epicurean centers, in between our sightseeing (sears tower anyone?) we will be enjoying fabulous food at eateries of great fame. I'm tentatively planning Dinner at Terragusto Satuday night and Paradise Pup (as featured on the FOOD Network show Diners Drive-Ins and Dives) for lunch Sun - think Chicago style dogs, sausages, fries, and the best shakes, followed by dinner at Lou Malnati's (as featured on the travel network and where Chicago style deep dish was FIRST created). We could come to a consensus on where to dine for lunch Sat and breakfast Sunday. I'd also like to make time to visit Tea Gschwendner, an acclaimed tea shop in Chicago. Trip fee is $550 for the weekend and includes RT airfare, hotel, and dinner Sat + lunch and dinner Sunday. Trip fee quoted is subject to increase in fluctuation with airfare and hotel costs, but once you book the cost is guaranteed and no longer subject to increase.
