Thurgood Marshall Elementary School Reviews

My son is in first grade and I can not express how thrilled we are to have him at Marshall. The staff is wonderful, the teachers are outstanding beside the way they make the kids learn and explore new things. Overall we could not be more happier and we look forward to an other exciting year. Great work Marshall Staff

This is our fifth year at Marshall and couldn't be any happier with the Staff and Teachers. The principal runs a tight ship and expects a lot from her teachers and in this day and age you have to; so I applaud her leadership. Keep up the great work Marshall!!

I could not be happier with a school. The office staff is so wonderful and helpful, the guidance counselors are fabulous, and the teachers are wonderful.

This is the 4th elementary my children have been involved with. Having attended one other ES in the area and subbed at others, Marshall is definitly one of the better around. The front office is friendly and welcoming. The lunchroom noise level in one of my only complaints, it's very loud!

I am beyond impressed with the staff, administration, and support services at Thurgood Marshall Elementary. It is truly a school where students come first and a superior education is paramount. Throughout the building laughter, smiles, and an evident joy for learning is reflected by students and staff alike. I have been in many schools during my children's elementary years and I find Thurgood Marshall Elementary second to none. I commend the teachers, administration, secretaries and other support staff for going above and beyond what most schools offer or provide. Before and after school clubs further enrich and challenge the students. I find the PTO and strong parent volunteer network, evident in the school on a daily basis, to be a further asset to the success of all students at Thurgood Marshall. Soar with pride and excellence Thurgood Marshall EAGLES!

I have been a parent for the past two years at Thurgood Marshall and I am very impressed with the administration, teaching staff, and the warm office staff. As a working parent it is hard to leave your child all day long and at Marshall I feel like he still has family around. The principal is warm and greets the students each morning. When I come into the office the staff always greets me with a smile and is very helpful. The teachers are fantastic. They go the extra mile to help the students where they need help. There are a lot of extra school activities for the children to participate in and I am very impressed with the security at the school.

The Marshall Elementary I know is a warm, educationally enriched learning environment. When you enter the doors you feel welcomed and can readily observe the outstanding education being provided to each and every student. Muliple programs within the school have been recognized both locally, statewide, and even nationally. Students and staff alike are proud of their accomplishments as they excell academically from the Kindergarten level to Fifth grade. The administrators, teachers, support staff, PTO, and volunteers should be commended for making Marshall Elementary top notch and one of the best a parent could hope for.

The Marshall Elementary that we knew from 2001-2005 is gone. Under new 'management', what was once a warm inviting learning environment has now been converted to a militant institution. The majority of the teachers are still A+ teachers and I feel for them because they have to deal with the inflexibility of the higher up. Also, I've had lunch with my child several times in the past two months and it's pretty bad that they pretty much expect the kids to eat in complete silence. So much for social skills...

It's a wonderful place for children to explore and learn. It has a very 'open door' policy with parents and the administration. Celebrating it's tenth year and still raising the bar on creating a complete academic environment for all to experience.

PTO active. Guidance and administrative staff supportive. Teachers are generally professional and nurturing. Parents are active volunteers. Lots of clubs through the year. Gifted program limited, but there are math and reading specialists that go into the classrooms.
