Wakefield High School Reviews

I really like Wakefield, it's a great school just like Yorktown and W&L The only thing that bothers me is that we are the last school to get remodle...but other then that i like it. Most of the staff are cool and you learn a lot at wakefield.

Its a really good high school that prepares your child for high school. They have alot of fun and have really good teachers.

I must be missing something. This can't be the Wakefield high I know. My child is in the 11th grade and ever since he has attended this school he could never get the right classes or the right language courses. Because of this he will not be getting his Advance diploma next year. Some of the staff are not organized when comes to handeling the paper work and some of the Teachers don't have a heart or feelings for that matter. The principle does not call you back when you need an answer, she leaves it up to a staff member to get in contact with you. I attended a few PTA meetings but there only concern was 'how much money can we raise for the Senior Prom or that boat trip the students take in their last year. Wakefield is more concerned with accolades then student achievements.

My son is entering 11th grade at Wakefield. He has had demanding classes; the AP program is really great; and overall very good teachers. He has been able to participate in school sports, which has also added to his high school experience. He said that being in a school that is so diverse is good because it's not boring. The drama department at Wakefield is truly amazing.

We have a top academic 10th grader enrolled at Wakefield who is being appropriately challenged academically, and has found a wonderful culturally diverse student body and faculty. The leadership makes this work as an asset for learning, including great life lessons. Wakefield's extensive offerings of AP classes, and its drive to prepare all students to take them, earned Wakefield the College Board's Inspiration Award in 2006, one of only 3 schools nationwide. The faculty is strong, motivated and motivating in both academic areas and the arts. The extracurricular program offers lots of opportunity. We are proud to be a part of Wakefield.

Well i have two daughters that attend Wakefield i think its a good school in some cause i think that they diversity is great! but then it comes with problems my childen came home telling me about the gang figths that scares me to know that they school could have that. the teachers are ok they could be better i think,

Hi i am a current student at Wakwfield im in the 10th garde. to tell the truth i don't like he school its too much going on to me. too much drama even tho thats at all schools but i think they could help it at wakefield. i think some of the tearchers are very disrespectful and they know they won'r get in troble for it. I think overall the school could be better, but i dont think no changes would happen.

My student was a transfer student for one year. I was very impressed with the principal and her leadership as well with the academcis of the classroom. espically with the offering of the kaplen study for the SAT

As a former student I can say that I had a great time at Wakefield. The staff is great and they were always there to help whenever I needed it. They have lots of programs to help students and even parents be more involved. I'm proud to be a Wakefield Alumni.
